A WOMAN has revealed that she has tied the knot 11 times because she’s addicted to marriage and the idea of being in love.
Single mum Monette is the star of TLC’s US series, Addicted to Marriage – a fly-on-the-wall reality show about her romantic life and quest to find a lasting husband.
In the series, it looked as if Monette may finally have found her happy ending alongside boyfriend John – however things then took a sudden turn.
Monette and John butted heads in a furious clash, which led to a serious conversation about where their relationship was going wrong and whether they actually had a future ahead of them.
As John accused Monette for playing a big part in her past failed relationships and that she wouldn’t be able to make one work until she addressed that issue, Monette initially bristled.
However, after the pair decided to part ways for good on bad terms, the American show’s star later admitted that she knew they had made the right decision – but that she hadn’t given up on the idea of finding a 12th husband.

She told the cameras: “The break-up is hard for me and I’m sad because I love John, but this argument that we just had reaffirms that this is the right move for me.
“It’s really painful to have another failure, especially in this relationship where I tried so hard and gave so much.
“But they say that the one that loves the most, and the one that gives the most is the one that hurts the most.
“Right now, I would say I’m not looking for number 12, but we haven’t had my two-month mourning time because then I’ll probably be ready. Nobody likes a quitter.
“All through my life, any time anything was really hard, or it went wrong or really bad, something really good came from it.
“And so I’m still going to hold on hope for finally having a good marriage.”

Monette’s sister, Marcie, who has been married for 38 years, also confided in the camera crew that she hoped that Monette would eventually find lasting love like she had.
Marcie explained: “When Monette was married two, three times, I never worried that something was wrong with her or anything like that.
“But when Monette got to marriages nine and ten – and just divorced and then meets someone else and then divorce [again]. Maybe she’s not going to find that right one.”
Later, she became visibly emotional and broke down in tears, as she added: “The biggest thing that I want for Monette is to have what I have because I love her and it hurts me that she doesn’t.
“It breaks my heart that she doesn’t, I want her to have that. She deserves it and I don’t know if she knows she deserves it, but she does.”
She concluded: “She deserves to be happy and to be loved.”
